All Drinks
Places to go for a drink — bars, pubs, and beer gardens, plus breweries and wineries to taste and buy.
Bars
A bar (aka saloon, tavern, pub or club) is a retail business establishment that serves alcoholic beverages, such as beer, wine, liquor, cocktails, and other beverages such as mineral water and soft drinks. Bars often also sell snack foods such as potato chips or peanuts for consumption on their premises.
Beer Gardens
Beer gardens (from the German Biergarten) are outdoor areas in which beer and local food are served, typically at shared tables. There is a distinction between a Wirtsgarten, where only food sold by the venue is allowed, and a traditional Biergarten, where patrons may also bring their own food but buy the venue's beer.
Breweries
Breweries make beer on site, often as small, independent craft producers. Many welcome visitors for tours or tastings, or sell their beer to take away.
Pubs
Pubs, or public houses, are establishments licensed to sell alcoholic drinks, which traditionally include beer (such as ale) and cider. It is a social drinking establishment and a prominent part of many cultures. In many places, especially in villages, a pub is the focal point of the community.
Wineries
A winery is a building or property that produces wine, or a business involved in wine production, such as a wine company. Some wine companies own many wineries. Besides winemaking equipment, larger wineries may also feature warehouses, bottling lines, laboratories, and large expanses of tanks known as tank farms.
