Community Places

  • All Community Places Shared public places that serve a local community day to day. Here you will find town halls, libraries, places of worship, graveyards, and community centres.
  • Community Centres Community centres are gathering places for local events, meetings, and group activities. They host everything from clubs and classes to celebrations and public meetings.
  • Graveyards Graveyards or cemeteries are places where dead people (or sometimes animals) are buried or otherwise interred. The term graveyard is often used interchangeably with cemetery, but a graveyard primarily refers to a burial ground within a churchyard.
  • Libraries Libraries are places to read, borrow, and often study books and other media. Many also offer quiet workspaces, computers, and free internet for visitors.
  • Places of Worship Places of worship are specially designed structures or consecrated spaces where individuals or a group of people such as a congregation come to perform acts of devotion, veneration, or religious study. A building constructed or used for this purpose is sometimes called a house of worship.
  • Town Halls A town hall is a village, town, or city hall: a building that may serve as an administrative center or simply as a community meeting place. A town hall is not necessarily used, or ever to have been used, for administrative functions. It can also serve as a village hall, commonly in UK villages, and host community events such as fundraising and discos. This category also includes city halls, where the principal offices of a city administration are located.
