Accommodation
All Accommodation
Places to stay the night while you are away from home. This group covers everything from hotels and hostels to holiday homes and chalets.
Apartments
Holiday or vacation apartments are furnished apartments or flats or units with cooking and bathroom facilities that can be rented for holiday vacations, either from a private owner or an agency. Apartments usually do not offer services like a hotel or a guest house.
Chalets
Chalets or Swiss chalets are a type of accommodation in the tourism industry, usually detached, like a holiday cottage, holiday home or vacation home with self-contained cooking and bathroom facilities.
Guest Houses
A guest house (also guesthouse) is a kind of lodging. In some parts of the world guest houses are a type of inexpensive hotel-like lodging. In still others, it is a private home which has been converted for the exclusive use of lodging. Contrary to hotels or inns, guest houses do not have a full-time staff.
Hostels
A hostel is a lower-cost form of short-term shared sociable lodging where guests can rent a bed, usually a bunk bed in a dormitory, with shared use of a lounge and sometimes a kitchen. Rooms can be mixed or single-sex and have private or shared bathrooms. Private rooms may also be available, but the property must offer dormitory-style accommodation as a defining feature.
Hotels
Hotels are establishments that provide paid lodging on a short-term basis. Facilities may range from a modest-quality mattress in a small room to large suites with bigger, higher-quality beds, a dresser, a refrigerator and other kitchen facilities, a flat-screen television, and an en-suite bathroom.
Motels
Motels or motor lodges are hotels designed for motorists and often have a parking area for motor vehicles close to the rooms. Motels usually offer short term accommodation for people travelling by car.
